Choosing the Correct Cable or Adapter

Start with your instrument’s model number and check the accessory’s listed compatibility. Similar-looking connectors can have different wiring, voltage requirements or communication functions. Use the specified accessory to support proper instrument operation.

AC Power Adapters

AC adapters supply external power to compatible instruments for benchtop use or extended monitoring. Match the adapter’s output voltage, polarity, connector size and current rating to the instrument’s requirements. External power does not necessarily recharge installed batteries; confirm charging capability in the instrument manual.

USB and RS232 Interface Cables

Interface cables connect compatible meters and data loggers to a computer for supported communication and data transfer functions. Check the required cable, software and driver before ordering. A USB power cable may not support data transfer, and a standard USB cable may not replace a model-specific interface cable.

Probe and Microphone Extension Cables

Extension cables allow compatible probes or microphones to be positioned farther from the instrument display. This can help with remote measurements, equipment access and convenient viewing of readings. Confirm the supported probe, connector and maximum cable length for your instrument.

US and International Power Connections

Choose an adapter with the correct plug configuration and input voltage rating for the location where it will be used. Interchangeable prongs change the physical plug connection but do not by themselves provide voltage conversion. Check the adapter’s electrical ratings before connecting it to an outlet.
