Blue-Green Algae (BGA), also known as cyanobacteria, can exhibit a range of colors such as blues, greens, reds and black.
This sensor is only for use with:
Sper Scientific 870001 Multi-Parameter Water Quality Analyzer
The Blue-Green Algae Sensor is designed to detect and monitor this type of algae in bodies of water. This is crucial as Blue-green algae are capable of reducing nitrogen and carbon levels, but can also cause a decrease in dissolved oxygen when they become too abundant. Its ability to produce toxins and create algal blooms also pose a serious threat to water quality, ecosystem stability, and public health, making the monitoring of Blue-green algae vital.
The sensor utilizes the specific absorption and emission peaks in the spectrum of Blue-green algae, and the emitted light intensity is directly proportional to the algae concentration in water. With easy installation and operation, the Blue-green algae sensor is ideal for monitoring water stations, surface waters, and other applications.
- Detection of Blue-Green Algae: Monitors various colors of cyanobacteria, crucial for assessing water quality.
- Ecosystem Impact: Tracks algae levels to prevent reductions in nitrogen, carbon, and dissolved oxygen, which affect ecosystem stability.
- Public Health Safety: Identifies toxic algal blooms that threaten water quality and human health.
- Spectral Technology: Utilizes specific absorption and emission peaks to measure algae concentration accurately.
- User-Friendly Design: Easy installation and operation make it suitable for various applications, including water stations and surface waters.
Ordering Notes:
1. All Sper Inline Water Quality Meters and Sensors are sold separately - one of each is required for a complete system.
2. All Inline Water Quality Meters and Sensors ship direct from the factory. Please allow 10-15 business days for shipping and handling.
