The Online COD Sensor is an advanced device designed to measure the concentration of soluble organic matter in water by utilizing the absorption of ultraviolet (UV) light at 254 nm.
This sensor is only for use with:
Sper Scientific 870001 Multi-Parameter Water Quality Analyzer
This UV spectral absorption coefficient (SAC254) reflects the presence of organic compounds and can be converted into a chemical oxygen demand (COD) value under specific conditions. This method allows for continuous, real-time monitoring without the need for chemical reagents, making it an eco-friendly and efficient solution.
What is BOD COD and TOC?
BOD - Biochemical Oxygen Demand
COD - Chemical Oxygen Demand
TOC - Total Organic Carbon
The sensor offers a simple yet effective way to track organic pollution in various water sources, with minimal maintenance and no need for pre-processing. Its fast response time and automatic cleaning function ensure reliable, long-term performance, making it ideal for wastewater treatment facilities, industrial water discharge monitoring, and environmental water quality assessments.
Key Features:
- Direct immersion measurement: No need for sampling or pre-processing.
- Reagent-free operation: No chemical reagents are required, preventing secondary pollution.
- Fast response and continuous monitoring: Real-time results for efficient process control.
- Automatic cleaning function: Low-maintenance, ensuring consistent performance.
Applications:
- Continuous monitoring of organic load in sewage treatment processes
- Real-time monitoring of influent and effluent in wastewater treatment
- Suitable for surface water, industrial discharge and fishery water quality monitoring
Ordering Notes:
1. All Sper Online Water Quality Meters and Sensors are sold separately - one of each is required for a complete system.
2. All Online Water Quality Meters and Sensors ship direct from the factory. Please allow 10-15 business days for shipping and handling.
